How do you pick a venue for your event?

Event venues can help or hurt your event. If your event venue is too small or doesn't provide the right kind of ambiance, you might find yourself underwhelmed after the event is done! No one wants to feel underwhelmed, so here are some good tips and tricks when picking the right venue for your event. It doesn't matter what the event is- these should help you navigate to find the right place for your event.

-How many people do I need to fit in a space?

-What hours do I need the venue?

-How easily can people park close to the venue? Can I get people to the event?

-Is there extra cost to renting parking or securing transportation to my event?

-Do I need to hire extra security for my venue (is this event before/after hours)?

-How easily can I access the space (if needed) before or after the event?

-What kind of technology is provided in the space? (especially if you need WiFi)

-What kind of natural light/lighting is there in the space? (this is most pertinent for brides & grooms planning weddings)

-What feel does the space give off? You want to make sure that if you are going for rustic vintage, that you find a space that feels that. If you need a venue for a corporate holiday party, how do you want your employees to feel?

This list is to help you decide what venues to visit- the hope is that it will save you time in the long run. If you can organize your event and target the venues that match the feel you are seeking, you'll find the level of stress much lower!

As always, experienced event planners can help you decide venues based on your answers to the questions above. The great thing is--- seasoned event planners can help you answer some of the above if you don't know where to start. Just ask!

Cheers-

Vanessa
